Warning
Do not run the ArmTool while jobs are running on the MediaAgent.
Stop all services that are running on the MediaAgent, and stop and close all of the applications that are using the tape library before you use the ArmTool.
The ArmTool provides you with the ability to perform simple library tasks to help you to analyze and troubleshoot issues with tape libraries. With the ArmTool, you can:

verify barcodes
-
validate tape drives
-
move media
-
mount and unmount drives
-
lock and unlock doors
The ArmTool is run from the command line interface.
Disabling Jobs That Are Running on the MediaAgent
Before you use the ArmTool, you must suspend jobs that are running or queued waiting, and then take the library offline for maintenance.

From the CommCell Console ribbon, click Home, and then click Job Controller.
The Job Controller appears in the right pane.

If necessary, add the Libraries column to the Job Controller.

Right-click a column label.
-
Click Choose Columns, and then click Libraries.

In the Job Controller, sort the list by libraries.

For the appropriate library, right-click each job that is running or queued waiting, and then click Suspend.
To select more than one job, hold down the Ctrl key and click all of the relevant jobs.

From the CommCell Browser, expand to Storage Resources | Libraries.

Right-click the appropriate library, and then click Properties.
The Library Properties dialog box appears.

Click the Status tab.

Clear the Enable Library check box, and select the Mark Library Offline for Maintenance check box.

Click OK.
