You can enforce encryption of data for a client computer. When you enforce encryption, the software prevents any backup operations and auxiliary copy operations on unencrypted data of the client computer.
For example, you are a tenant with a managed service provider (MSP) and you enforced encryption for a client computer in your environment. If the MSP administrator disables encryption on the CommServe computer, then the Commvault software prevents backup operations and auxiliary copy operations on the unencrypted data of the client computer. When a user performs a backup operation or an auxiliary copy operation, the software prevents the operation and displays an error message that communicates that the operation failed because encryption is disabled on the Commserve computer.
