Getting Started with Splunk

Verify the system requirements, complete the big data guided setup, add the indexer peer nodes, and then perform a test backup and restore.

Procedure

1. Verify the system requirements for Splunk.

2. Install Splunk on the master node.

3. Complete the big data guided setup.

   The guided setup guides you through creating a server plan to use for the cluster (if you don't already have one), and adding the cluster.

4. Install Splunk on the indexer peer nodes.

5. Add indexer peer nodes.

6. Perform a test backup and restore.
