Configuring the Recovery Point and Time for Reports

You can configure the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) at the CommCell level, the Client Group level, and the Client level. RPO is the maximum number of hours that data can be lost during a service disruption and RTO is the maximum amount of time allowed to restore after a service disruption. These settings will be used to calculate the data that appears in the Recovery Readiness Report.

Procedure

CommCell Level

  1. On the CommCell Console ribbon, on the Home tab, click Control Panel.

  2. Click System.

    The System dialog box is displayed.

  3. On the Advanced tab, configure the RPO and RTO:

    • Next to Recovery Point Objective (RPO), select or type a number next to Day(s), Hour(s), and Minute(s).

    • Next to Recovery Time Objective (RTO), select or type a number next to Day(s), Hour(s), and Minute(s).

  4. Click OK.

Client Group Level

  1. In the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computer Groups, and right click a Client Group, and then click Properties.

    The Client Group Properties dialog box appears.

  2. On the Advanced Settings tab, configure the RPO and RTO:

    • Next to Recovery Point Objective (RPO), select or type a number next to Day(s), Hour(s), and Minute(s).

    • Next to Recovery Time Objective (RTO), select or type a number next to Day(s), Hour(s), and Minute(s).

  3. Click OK.

Clients Level

  1. In the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers, and right click a Client, and then click Properties.

    The Client Group Properties dialog box appears.

  2. Click Advanced.

    The Advanced Client Properties dialog box appears.

  3. On the KPIs tab, configure the RPO and RTO:

    • Next to Recovery Point Objective (RPO), select or type a number next to Day(s), Hour(s), and Minute(s).

    • Next to Recovery Time Objective (RTO), select or type a number next to Day(s), Hour(s), and Minute(s).

  4. Click OK to close the Advanced Client Properties dialog box.

  5. Click OK to close the Client Properties dialog box.

Plan Level

  1. Log on to the Command Center.

  2. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Plans.

    The Plan page appears.

  3. Click the plan that you want to configure RPO for.

  4. In the RPO area, click Add.

    The Add backup frequency dialog box appears.

  5. Specify the backup type, such as Incremental, Full or Differential, and then enter the backup frequency.
