Creating a Data Domain Boost Client Library

Use the following procedure to configure a Data Domain Boost Client Library.

1. From the navigation pane, go to Storage > Disk.

   The Disk page appears.

2. In the upper right of the page, click Add, and then click Data Domain Boost Storage.

   The Add Data Domain Boost Storage dialog box appears.

3. From the Type list, select Data Boost Client.

4. In the Name box, type a name for the library.

5. Select the appropriate MediaAgent from the MediaAgent list.

   Optionally, click the + sign to create a new MediaAgent.

6. In the Data Domain host box, type the IP address associated with the Data Domain Library.

   In case of Fibre Channel, add the DFC Server Name.

7. In the Storage unit box, type the name of the storage unit provided in the Data Domain Console.

8. From the Credentials list, choose a pre-defined credential.

   Optionally, click the + sign to create new credential to access the Data Domain library. For more information, see Creating a New Credential to Access a Network Drive.

   Note

   Deduplication storage policy is not supported.

9. Click Save.

   The new Data Domain Boost Storage Library appears under Disk page.

   Notes

   • You can configure WORM storage lock on the Data Domain Boost Storage Library. For more information, see Enabling WORM Storage and Retention for Disk Storage. You should enable the Data Domain Retention Lock option in Data Domain Console to enable WORM storage lock in Command Center.

   • Data Domain Boost Access Library requires MediaAgent to have a cloud storage license.
