Creating a MediaAgent for Azure and AWS

A MediaAgent provides high performance data movement and manages the data storage. For scalability, you can create more than one MediaAgent in a CommCell environment.

If your environment includes at least one hypervisor that VM provisioning settings are specified for, you can create an access node for a hypervisor. This capability simplifies expanding into a new region for MSPs.

Perform this procedure after the Specifying VM Provisioning Settings for Azure Access Nodes or Specifying VM Provisioning Settings for Amazon Web Services Access Nodes procedure.

When you perform the procedure in this topic, you do not need to perform the Installing a MediaAgent procedure.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

    The Infrastructure page appears.

  2. Click the MediaAgent tile.

    The MediaAgent page appears.

  3. Click Add MediaAgent.

The Add MediaAgent dialog box appears.

  4. In the Provisioning Hypervisor field, select the hypervisor that will host the MediaAgent by using the choices in the dropdown list.
