Enabling Ransomware Protection as a Non-Root LDAP User

You can enable ransomware protection on HyperScale nodes as a non-root LDAP user.

Procedure

1. Using the system console (for example, using KVM, not SSH), login as LDAP user to the node in which the remote cache is configured and navigate to the following folder:

   /opt/commvault/MediaAgent

2. To enable the ransomware protection, run the following command:

    
   sudo ./cvsecurity.py enable_protection -i InstanceID

   where instanceID is the ID of the instance. For example, Instance001.
