Performing File System Restores

Restore your backed up data to the original location on the same computer or to a new location on the same computer or a different computer.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

    The Overview page appears.

  2. Go to the File servers tab, and then click the file server.

    The file server page appears.

  3. Go to the Subclients tab.

  4. In the Actions column for the subclient you backed up, click the action button action_button, and then click Restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  5. Choose the content that you want to restore.

    • To restore the contents of the entire subclient, select the check box next to Name.

    • To restore particular files, expand the folder and then select the files. To restore particular files, expand the folder and then select the files.

  6. Click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  7. From the Destination list, choose the destination computer for the restore.

  8. Choose the restore location.

    • To restore to the original backup location, select the Restore to original folder check box.

    • In the Destination Path box, type the full path to the destination folder, or click Browse to select the destination folder.

      For AIX and Linux file servers, to restore to an NFS export path that is currently not mounted, enter path in the formatfile_server_name:/export_path.

  9. Optional: If the destination path is a UNC Path, then enable the Impersonate user slider, and then enter the user name and password required to access the UNC path.

  10. To overwrite the existing data, select the Unconditionally overwrite if it already exists check box.

  11. Optional: To receive an Email when the restore operation completes, select the When the job completes, notify me via email check box.

  12. Click Restore.
