Creating a Replica Copy

To make a volume available for continued operation, you can recover the volume at the destination server using the Create replica copy option.

When you request a permanent mount, you can use the latest updates or select a specific recovery point.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Auto recovery > Replication Monitor.

   The Replication Monitor page appears.

2. In the Actions column for a replication pair, click the action button , and then select Create replica copy.

   The Create replica copy dialog box appears.

3. In the Destination client box, enter the name for the destination server.

4. To edit the copy in the destination volume, on the Copy to volume column, click Browse.

   The Select a mount point page appears.

5. To see all available volumes, click Show all volumes.

   You can view the available size and the total size of volumes.

6. Select the required mount point for the destination volume and click Save.

7. On the Create replica copy page, from the Recovery type box, select one of the following values:

   • Oldest point in time: Perform the boot from the current version of the destination server.

     This is the only supported value for Live recovery. Other values are available only for Granular recovery.

   • Select from graph: Click a recovery point in the graph.

   • Recovery point time: Select this option, and then select a recovery point from the Select recovery point list.

   • Application consistent recovery point time: Select this option, and then select a recovery point from the Select recovery point list.

     This option is available only if you configured the replication pair to create application-consistent recovery points.

8. Click Save.
