Managing Service CommCells in the Command Center

When you have multiple CommCell environments and add a CommCell environment to your primary CommCell environment, the primary CommCell environment becomes the Global CommCell, and the one registered is called the service CommCell. After successfully adding the service CommCell, a service CommCell list appears at the top of the Command Center page when users log in to the Global CommCell. Users can use this option to switch between service CommCells to manage their workloads. Single sign-on authentication happens when they switch to another service CommCell; users need not explicitly log in to each service CommCell’s Command Center.

You can choose any service CommCell in your multi-CommCell environment to be the primary Service CommCell.

Note

  • To log on to the service CommCell with AD or SAML authentication enabled, enable automatic user creation. For more information, see Automatically Create Users When AD or SAML SSO Login is Enabled On Service CommCells.

  • If the firewall is enabled on both the master CommCell and the service CommCell, you must open the Tomcat port for communication between both the Commcells.

The default Tomcat port is 443. If a custom Tomcat port is configured, verify that the custom port is open instead of the default one.

    For example:

    - Master Command Center URL: https://master-hostname.com/commandcenter

    - Service Command Center URL: https://service-hostname.com/commandcenter

Both Command Centers must be able to reach each other. Verify that each URL is accessible from the other machine to allow proper communication between the master and service Command Centers.
