Configuring a vRealize Template for VMware

The vRealize 8.x architecture administrator must add the Commvault data protection policy to any templates that need to support the Commvault vRealize plugin. This configuration enables users to apply the data protection policy for new deployments of VMs using VMware Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation).

Procedure

1. In the VMware Aria Automation (formerly vRealize Automation) Portal, under Design, select a Cloud Template.

2. On the Inputs tab, click New Cloud Template Input.

3. Under the Object type, select a property group and then select CommvaultDataProtectionPolicy.

4. Provide a name for this input, for example, CommvaultDataProtectionInputs.

5. Under the properties of the added machine, create a new property named CommvaultDataProtectionInputs: '${input.CommvaultDataProtectionInputs}.
