Configuring the Resource Allocation Wait Time for Multistreamed Backups for Exchange Databases

When you configure backup operations to use multiple streams, the default amount of time that the job waits for additional streams to become available from the Job Manager is five minutes. Under certain conditions, it might take longer than five minutes for additional streams to become available, which might cause the job to run very slowly or to fail.

You can change the wait time by using the nResourceAllocTimeout additional setting for a standalone environment, or the nDagResourceAllocTimeout additional setting for a DAG environment.

Procedure

1. Depending on what kind of environment you have, add either of the following additional settings:

   • If you use a standalone environment, then from the CommCell Browser, at the client level, add the nResourceAllocTimeout additional setting using the values shown in the following table.

   • If you use a DAG environment, then from the CommCell Browser, at the client level, add the nDagResourceAllocTimeout additional setting using the values shown in the following table.
