If you already have a CommServe server that you want to use as the production CommServe host, then you must install only the CommServe Failover package.
Before You Begin

Make sure that the CommServe is installed before installing the CommServe Failover package.

Verify that the prerequisites needed to setup the environment are available before setting up the CommServe LiveSync feature. For more information, see Planning for the CommServe LiveSync Setup in a Linux Environment.
Procedure

Copy the custom package to the server in which you plan to setup a standby CommServe host.

Navigate to the location where the custom package was copied, and install the packages in the silent mode using the following command:

To install a fail over instance on an existing production CommServe node, convert a regular CommServe node to an active CS node using the following command:
/silent_install -pkgs 1024 -commcelluser $[user_name] -commcellpassword $[CommCell_password] -cshost $[IP_address]Where:

<user_name> is the username of the CommCell user.

<Commcell_password> is the password of the CommCell user.

<IP_address> is the IP address of the CommServe host.
