You can restore the entire backed up instance from a default subclient to either the same instance or a different instance on the source client. You can also restore the instance to a different destination server.

During a restore operation, data directory of the destination MySQL server is overwritten. The data is not staged at any location.

MySQL Enterprise backup version 4.1.2 or above is needed for partial restores, and restoring the data and logs without recovery.
