Performing a Point-in-Time Restore of an Oracle Archive to a Disk

Applies to: Archives that are in the XML format.

Use a point-in-time restore to revert the database to a state before an undesired transaction or before a point of failure.

This procedure restores the archive to a disk on the specified client.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers> client> Oracle > instance.

  2. Right-click the subclient, point to All Tasks, and then click Browse and Restore.

    The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

  3. Select Time Range, then select the Absolute Time option, type the date and time, and then click Recover All Selected.

    The Restore Options dialog box appears.

  4. On the General tab:

    1. From the Destination Client list, select the client

    2. In the Redirect Path box, type the path for the restored archive.

  5. On the Job Initiation tab, specify whether to run the restore now or if it will be scheduled.

    Note: If you selected Schedule, set up the schedule.

  6. Click OK to close the Restore Options dialog box.
