You can restore HBase tables out of place to the same Hadoop instance with user-specified destination table names, if the destination tables have the same schema as the source tables.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > pseudoclient > Big Data Apps > instance > backup_set.

In the right pane, right-click the subclient, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

Slect the restore options:

To restore the most recent backup, select Latest Backup.

To restore to a point-in-time, select Time Range, and then type the date and time in the Start and End boxes.

Click View Content.

On the Browse page, determine what data to restore.
The Browse page displays the namespace in the left pane.

Select the tables that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.

On the General tab, complete the following steps:

To modify the destination table names, click the Destination Table Name box, and type new names for the tables.

To overwrite a table that already exists on the destination instance, select the Overwrite the table if it exists check box.

Select the database recovery option.

To have the HBase application software recover the database, click Recover and apply.

To have the Commvault software restore the selected tables to the staging path without recovering the database, click Recover and stage.

Click OK.
What to Do Next
If you selected the Recover and stage option, you must manually recover the database after the restore operation.
