Specifying the Preferred Node for Guest File Restores for a Virtual Server Instance

When you browse files from a backup of a Linux VSA instance, by default, the Commvault software automatically selects the access node to mount the files. To override the default behavior for a virtualization client and specify an access node to mount the files, use the Preferred node for guest file restores setting.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers > virtualization_client > Virtual Server.

  2. Right-click the instance, and then select Properties.

  3. Click the Proxies tab.

For Hyper-V, this is the Nodes tab.

  4. From the Preferred node for guest file restores list, select an access node.

  5. Click OK.
