For Pure Storage Disk Libraries (network shares) and similar storage systems, the capacity size reported in Commvault may appear larger than the usage shown on the Pure Storage dashboard.
Commvault displays storage usage based on what Pure Storage reports as the “application size” (logical size), the amount of data written before Pure Storage applies its hardware-level data reduction. The Pure Storage dashboard reports the physical size after these reductions.
Note
A quota must be configured on the Pure Storage share used for the disk library to ensure accurate capacity reporting in Commvault. For more information, see Unbound Quota on Pure Storage results in incorrect information in CommVault GUI.
