Permissions Used for Google Cloud SQL for MySQL Protection

To discover database instances, enable the Cloud SQL Admin and Cloud Resource Manager API in the project where service account is hosted.

If you are using a GCP VM, under API and Identity Management > Cloud API access scopes, ensure that the Cloud SQL and Cloud Platform access scopes are enabled.

Commvault requires a Google Cloud service account with the appropriate Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions to protect Google Cloud SQL for MySQL resources:

  • Backup permissions: Lists the IAM permissions required to back up Google Cloud Bigtable resources.

  • Restore permissions: Lists the IAM permissions required to restore Google Cloud Bigtable resources.

For information about creating and assigning custom IAM roles, see the Google Cloud IAM documentation.
