Enabling Support for Offline Attribute for EMC Unity and Nutanix

On DMNAS (Data Migration on NAS) storage arrays, stubs are identified by checking if the file has the offline attribute and if the file size is 2 KB. By default, EMC Unity and Nutanix storage arrays do not support the offline attribute on a file after archiving. Therefore, files with 2 KB size are identified as stubs and such files can be excluded from archiving.

To skip the files that have a file size of 2 KB from archiving, you must add an additional setting.

Procedure

• To the proxy computer, add the GXHSM_UNITY_FILER_VALIDATE_SIZE_ONLY additional setting as shown in the following table.
