Installing the Optimized Block-Level Filter Driver on Physical Nodes of a Cluster

Deprecated

The OSDP feature is deprecated from the Commvault software in V11 SP15.

See End-of-Life, Deprecated and Extended Support - Features for information about deprecated features.

Before You Begin

Notes for Microsoft Windows Cluster:

  • Enabling the Optimized Block-Level Replication Filter feature on a cluster node installs the driver on all cluster nodes.

  • The driver installation on a cluster node is not attempted more than once, even if there were errors during the installation.

  • Until you reboot the cluster node, jobs continue to run in checksum mode.

Procedure

  1. On the command line of the cluster node, type:

    BLKWinSetup.exe -qsnap -op $[install] -path "$[C:Program FilesCommvaultContentStoreDriversqsnap2.inf]" -bmploc "$[C:Program FilesCommvaultContentStorebmp]"

where -path is the path to the Commvault software and -bmploc is the path to where the bitmap information is stored.

  2. Reboot the cluster node.
