You can restore data to any IBM i System where the IBM i File System Agent is configured and the Commvault VTL is accessible.
Before You Begin
Add the destination computer as a client in the source computer CommCell Console.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers> client> File System > backup_set.

Right-click the subclient, point to All Tasks and then click Browse and Restore.

On the Browse and Restore Options dialog box, select Latest Backup and then click View Content.

Optional: Use non-default Browse and Restore options. See Browse and Restore.

From the Browse window, select the data to restore in the right pane and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the General tab:

From the Destination Client list, select the restore destination computer..

Specify the destination folder.

To restore the file to the same folder as the source computer, select the Restore to same folder check box.
Note
When you select this option, existing file are overwritten.

To restore the files to a new location, clear the Restore to same folder check box and then type new path in the Specify destination path box.

Optional: Specify when to restore the files.
The restored data overwrites the existing data when the restored data is newer than the existing data.

To restore the data when the data you want to restore is older than the destination data, select the Overwrite Files check box and then select Unconditional Overwrite.

To only restore files that exist in the specified restore directory, select the Overwrite Files check box and then select the Restore only if target exists check box.

Optional: Select the advanced restore options.

Click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore dialog box appears.

Click OK to close the Advanced Restore Options dialog box.
