Restoring from a Sybase IntelliSnap Backup or a File System Based Backup Copy

Restore from a Sybase IntelliSnap Backup or a File System Based Backup Copy.

You can use this procedure to restore from an IntelliSnap backup or from a file system backup copy. The backup must performed on a subclient that is configured for an IntelliSnap file system copy backup (Subclient Properties dialog box, IntelliSnap Operations tab, clear the Use Dumpbased Backup Copy check box).

Note: IntelliSnap restores that are from an IntelliSnap backup or from a file system backup copy do not require the Sybase server to be offline. You do not need to manually create a master database before the restore operation, or to select that option when you perform the restore.

Note: If the databases that you want to include in the IntelliSnap backup share devices, you must select all databases that share the device for restores.

For example, if the "DataDisk1" device contains "database1" and "databse2", you must select both the databases for restore.
