You can restore Lustre (File System) cross platform to all supported versions of UNIX.
Prerequisites
To perform out-of-place Lustre file system restores, you must select the Restore ACLs check box in the Restore Options dialog box.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > pseudo-client > Big Data Apps > instance.

In the right pane, right-click the subclient on which you want to perform a restore operation, and then click Browse and Restore.
The Browse and Restore Options dialog box appears.

Click View Content.

Select the data that you want to restore, and then click Recover All Selected.
The Restore Options for All Selected Items dialog box appears.

On the Restore Options - General tab, specify the cross-platform restore options:

In the Destination Client list, select the pseudo-client.
You can select any pseudo-client that is in the same CommCell environment as that of the Lustre instance from which the data was backed up.

In the Destination Instance list, select the instance.
You can select any instance from the pseudo-client.

Clear the Restore to same folder check box.

Under Specify Destination Path, type the path that you want to restore the data to.

Click Advanced.
The Advanced Restore Options dialog box appears.

On the Advanced Restore Options - Data Access Nodes tab, in the Available Data Access Nodes list, select the required nodes, and then click Add.
The restore operation runs on the data access nodes that you select.

Click OK.

On the Restore Options - Job Initiation tab, specify whether you want to run the job immediately or to schedule it.

Optional: To further customize the restore operation, click Advanced.

Optional: To save the current restore options as a script file, click Save as Script.

Click OK.
Result
After the restore operation is complete, the data is restored to the destination folder that you specified in the Restore Options dialog box. If the destination folder does not exist, then a folder with the name that you specified is created and the data is restored to that folder.
