Before you protect SAP IQ data, make sure your environment meets the following requirements for network connectivity and database access.
- The Index Server on the MediaAgent hosts the backup index and enables browse and restore operations.
Additional requirements

Deploy the CvSybase Archive API library (libCvSybasebr.so and libCvS3Stream.so) to $IQDIR16/lib64/ on the SAP IQ server host before configuring backups.

Install unixODBC and FreeTDS (TDS 5.0 ODBC driver) on the SAP IQ server host.

Install pyodbc (Python ODBC library) on the SAP IQ server host using:
bin/python3.14t -m pip install pyodbc
Required ports
No external network ports are required for backup operations because the Commvault workload runs directly on the SAP IQ server. Storage connectivity is handled by the Primary Copy MediaAgent (which has the CVS3Service package installed).
Note
