After you add a Google Cloud Firestore configuration, you can modify its settings to change the backup plan, exclude the instance from SLA, configure a new subclient, or deconfigure the instance.
Go to the Google Cloud Firestore configuration
-
From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > AI & Analytics.
-
Locate the Google Cloud Firestore instance that you want to modify.
Configure instance-specific settings
These settings are used in specific scenarios and aren't required for most environments.
Service Account Email
The client_email value from the Service Account JSON key file. To change the credential, update this field with a different Service Account email address.
Private Key
The PEM-encoded private key from the Service Account JSON key file. To rotate the credential, paste the new private key including the header and footer markers.
GCP Project Name
The GCP project ID where the Firestore database is located. To protect a different project, create a new instance instead of modifying this field.
Region
The GCP region where the Firestore database is located. To protect a different region, create a new instance instead of modifying this field.
Database Name
The Firestore database name (for example, (default) for the default database). To protect a different database in the same project and region, update this field.
GCS Bucket Name
The name of the GCS bucket where backups are stored. To change the backup destination, update this field with a different bucket name. The new bucket must exist and the Service Account must have roles/storage.objectAdmin access.
Backup plan
Select a different backup plan to change the schedule, retention, or storage destination for this instance. The new backup plan must be created on Commvault Air Gap Storage.
Exclude from SLA calculations
Enable this option to exclude this instance from SLA reporting. This is useful for test or development environments that don't require SLA tracking.
Subclients
Click Subclients to view, create, or modify subclients for this instance. For details, see Modify settings for a Google Cloud Firestore subclient.
Deconfigure
Click Deconfigure to remove the instance from Commvault protection. This action removes the backup configuration but does not delete existing backups from storage.
Save changes

Click Save.
Changes to credential fields and the GCS bucket name take effect immediately. Changes to the backup plan apply to the next scheduled backup.
