The backup locations, which are marked for retirement, are monitored every 24 hours to check if there are any data block references. If there are no data block references, the status of the backup locations changes to Ready to retire and an event is triggered.
Procedure

From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Monitor > Events.

Click on the recent event.
The Event details for event page appears.
You can see the event details such as severity, event code, date, and the description.
Note
An alert message (email) is sent to the configured users with the link to the backup location which is ready for retirement.
