Performing Oracle RAC Restore Operations Using the Commvault Command Line Interface

You can perform restore operations by using the Commvault Command Line Interface.

Procedure

  1. Run the qlogin command to log on to the CommServe computer.

  2. Download the restore_template.xml file to the computer where you will run the command.

  3. Define parameter values in the XML file by editing the restore_template.xml file to update the parameters.

  4. On the command line, go to software_installation_directory/Base, and then type the following command:

If the sourceItem parameter contains a directory path, verify the path is valid before you run the command.

    qoperation execute -af restore_template.xml -appName '$[Oracle RAC]' -clientName '$[client_name]' -instanceName '$[dbname]' -sourceItem '$[source_item]' -racDataStreamAllcation '$[instance_id] $[number_of_streams]'

where racDataStreamAllcation is a required parameter (if not specified in the XML file) and is the instance ID and the number of streams to assign to that instance ID, for instance, '69 2'.

For information about additional parameters, see XML Parameters for Oracle RAC Backups and Restores.

  5. Run the qlogout command to log off the CommServe computer.
