Restoring Apache Hive Databases to a Different Set of Tables on a Different Cluster (Out of Place)

You can restore Hive databases to a different set of tables on a different cluster (out of place).

Procedure

  1. From the Command Center navigation pane, go to Protect > Big data.

    The Big data page appears.

  2. Click the cluster that has the Hive app added.

    The cluster page appears.

  3. Under Hadoop Apps, click Hive.

    The app page appears.

  4. Click the Table groups tab.

  5. Under Table groups, in the row for the subclient, click the action button action_button, and then click Restore.

    The Backup content page appears.

  6. Select the namespaces to restore, and then click Restore.

    The Restore options dialog box appears.

  7. Do the following:

    1. From the Destination cluster list, select a different cluster.

    2. Click the Destination box, and type new names for the tables.

  8. Click OK.
