Use the Power BI subscription usage report to monitor Power BI license usage in your Commvault environment.
User count considerations
Commvault calculates Power BI user counts based on the following conditions:
-
The user is a member of the Microsoft tenant. Guest users are not counted.
-
The user has access to Power BI with a valid license or plan.
-
The user is active (not deleted or blocked).
-
The user is not on a Power BI Free license.
-
Users with multiple licenses are counted only once.
Commvault supports a combination of user-based and capacity-based licensing. Usage is calculated based on the licenses assigned in the Microsoft tenant.
User-based licensing
Each Microsoft Power BI Pro or Microsoft Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) license counts as one Power BI user for Commvault.
Capacity-based licensing
Each Microsoft Power BI Premium capacity license counts as 500 Power BI users for Commvault.
