Metadata That You Can Search in Google Workspace Files

You can search the metadata of files from Google Workspace apps user and user groups.

App	Option	Description
Google Drive	Item name	Searches for files with the name specified.
	Contains	Searches for files which contains the search string. You must enable content indexing to use the Contains search.
	User	Searches for files that belong to specified user. Example: username@domain.com
	Shared drive	Searches for files in the specified shared drive.
	Modified	Searches for files by the time they were modified. Select one of the following options: Today: Files modified on the current day. Yesterday: Files modified on the previous day. This Week: Files modified between Sunday and Saturday of the current week. This Month: Files modified during the current month. This Year: Files modified during the current year. Last Week: Files modified between Sunday and Saturday of the previous week. Last Month: Files modified during the previous month. Last Year: Files modified during the previous year. Date Range: Files modified during the date range that you specify in From and To.
	Size	Searches for files that are greater than or less than the size that you specify. You can specify the size in KB, MB, or GB.
Gmail	Contains	Searches for messages which contains the search string. You must enable content indexing to use the Contains search.
	Type	Searches for messages of the selected type.
	From	Searches for messages sent from a specified user. Example: username@domain.com
	To	Searches for messages sent to a specified user. Example: username@domain.com
	Subject	Searches for messages with a specified subject line.
	Mailboxes	Searches for messages from the specified mailboxes. Specify multiple mailboxes using a semicolon.
	Advanced options
	Received time	Searches for mails and messages received at a specified time.
	Mail size	Searches for messages of a specified size.
	Has attachment	Searches for messages that contain any attachments.
