You must configure a subclient to perform backups and restores of the MEDITECH data.
When you configure a subclient, specify the content by providing the connection details to the MEDITECH MBI listener.
Best Practice: Use one user-defined subclient for all MEDITECH-dependent systems.
Before You Begin
Create a backup set for the MEDITECH data.
Procedure
- 
From the CommCell Browser, expand ClientComputers > Client > File System.
 - 
Right-click the backup_set, point to All Tasks, and then click New Subclient.
The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.
 - 
On the General tab, in the Subclient name box, enter a name for the subclient.
 - 
On the Content tab, click Meditech.
The Meditech Configuration dialog box appears.
- 
Click Add.
The Add a new Meditech system dialog box is displayed.
 - 
In the System Name box, type a unique name to identify the MEDITECH module that you want to back up, for example 'EMR'.
 - 
In the IP box, type the transaction listener IP Address for the MEDITECH module host.
 - 
In the Port box, type the port that you use to access the MEDITECH MBI listener.
 - 
In the User Name and Password boxes, type the MEDITECH MBF credentials.
The default port is 2987.
 - 
In the Timeout box, type the timeout value.
 - 
Click OK to close the Add a new Meditech system dialog box.

On the Storage Device tab, from the Storage Policy list, select the storage policy that you want to use for the MEDITECH data.
 - 
On the IntelliSnap Operations tab, configure the IntelliSnap options.

Select the IntelliSnap check box.
A message appears that tells you that the next backup will be a full backup.
 - 
Click OK.

From the Available Snap Engines list, select the appropriate engine.

Click OK.
A subclient with the content that you want to back up is available under the backup set that you selected.
