You can use the audit trail feature to monitor permission change activities done through the Entitlement Manager dashboard, without the need for Windows operating system-level auditing. In case of inadvertent issues, administrators can easily revert permission changes.
A complete audit trail provides a mechanism to demonstrate adherence to governance policies.
Procedure

From the navigation pane, go to Data Insights.
The Data Insights page appears.

Under Risk Analysis, click Entitlement manager.
The Entitlement manager page appears.

Upper-left corner of the page, from the server list, select the server that contains the files or folders that you want to audit.
The files and folders that are on the server appear.

To filter the files and folders, under Filters, click Add, select filter options, and then click Apply.

In the left area of the page, browse to select the file or folder that you want to change the permissions for.

In the pane in the right area of the page, on the Permission activity tab, click the down arrow to expand the permission activity.
You can view the time stamp of the change, who submitted the change, the user who the change was applied to, and the original (before) permission and changed (after) permission.

To change permissions back to previous values, click the action
button, and then do one of the following:-
To change the permission back to the value in the Before change column, click Revert this activity.

To change all permissions back to the values of a specific date and time, click Revert to this point.
All permission changes starting from the time of the revert operation are reverted including the current permission.
The Revert permission page appears.

Review the change, and then click Revert.
