Creating a Data Domain Boost Access Library

You can convert an existing Data Domain Disk Library (CIFS, NFS, or DDBoost) to a Data Domain Boost Access Library.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Storage > Disk.

    The Disk page appears.

  2. In the upper right of the page, click Add, and then click Data Domain Boost Storage.

    The Add Data Domain Boost Storage dialog box appears.

  3. From the Type list, select DDBoost Access.

  4. In the Name box, type a name for the library.

  5. Select the appropriate MediaAgent from the MediaAgent list.

  6. Optionally, click the + sign to create a new MediaAgent.

  7. In the Data Domain host box, type the IP address associated with the Data Domain Library.

    In case of Fibre Channel, add the COFC identifier.

  8. In the Storage unit box, type the name of the storage unit provided in the Data Domain Console.

  9. From the Credentials list, choose a pre-defined credential.

  10. Optionally, click the + sign to create new credential to access the Data Domain library. For more information, see Creating a New Credential to Access Network Drive.

  11. Slide the Use deduplication toggle key to the right, to enable deduplication on the storage.

  12. Click Add to add a Deduplication DB location.

    The Add Deduplication DB location dialog box appears.

    1. From the MediaAgent list, select the MediaAgent associated with the deduplication database.

    2. In the Deduplication DB location box, type a path to the deduplication database in the selected MediaAgent.

      Optionally, click the folder button to select a pre-existing Deduplication DB location.

      The Select a deduplication DB location dialog box appears.

    3. Select the deduplication database and then click Save.

    4. Click Add to exit the Add Deduplication DB location dialog box.

  13. Click Save.

The new Data Domain Boost Storage Library appears under Disk page.
