Creating Global Exclusions

Global Exclusions filter out data from backup operations. You can create Windows and UNIX exclusions. Global exclusions support the use of regular expressions (or wildcards).

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > System.

    The System page appears.

  2. Click the Global exclusions tile.

    The Global exclusions page appears.

  3. Open the Enter path dialog box:

    • If this is the first exclusion in your Command Center, click Add Windows exclusion or Add Unix exclusion.

    • If exclusions exist in your Command Center, under either Windows global exclusions or Unix global exclusions, click Add.

  4. In the Enter path dialog box, type the path to the file or folder you want to exclude from the backup operation.

  5. To add multiple paths, press Enter before adding the next path.

  6. Optional: To configure all subclients to use global exclusions, in the General box, select Use global exclusions on all subclients.

  7. Click Save.
