Enabling Backups for Global Objects in PostgreSQL Databases

You can back up information about global objects (such as roles) in a PostgreSQL database. To back up global objects, the Commvault software uses the pg_dumpall utility with -c and -s options.

It is supported only for PostgreSQL agents with Indexing Version 2 enabled. For PostgreSQL agents, the Indexing version 2 is enabled by default for newly installed clients in Feature Release 11.30 and more recent versions. For more information about how to upgrade client to Indexing Version 2, refer to Migration of Clients to Indexing Version 2.
