Getting started with Amazon DynamoDB databases includes completing the Databases guided setup, configuring an access node, creating a cloud database instance, and then performing a backup and a restore operation.
Complete the Databases Guided Setup
To add the first database in your Command Center environment, use the Databases guided setup. In the Command Center, go to Guided setup > Databases.
To complete the guided setup, you need the following information:

The server name

The host name
-
The credentials that you use to access the server
-
The packages that you want to install, such as Oracle
Note
If you are configuring a database that uses a pseudoclient, you must manually install the packages on the physical servers before you use the guided setup. For more information, see Adding a New Server.
Configure an Access Node
Add a Windows or Linux file server with the Virtual Server package installed. For more information, see Adding an Additional Server.
You can use one of the following platforms for the access node:

Windows Server 2019, 2016, and 2012, all on x64

Linux CentOS 8.3, 8.2, 8.1, 8.0, 7.9, 7.8, 7.7, 7.6, 7.5, or 7.4

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.3, 8.2, 8.1, 8.0, 7.9, 7.8, 7.7, 7.6, 7.5, or 7.4

Note
For CentOS 8.x or RHEL 8.x instances: To install operating system packages that must enable automatic installation of Mono, register the instances with CentOS or Red Hat, respectively.

If you wish to use an HTTP proxy for the access node, add the access node to a server group and configure an HTTP proxy for the server group.
Create a Cloud Database Instance for Amazon DynamoDB
Create a new cloud database instance for Amazon DynamoDB using a new cloud account.

Perform a Test Backup and Restore
The first full backup is automatically scheduled based on the assigned plan.
After the backup operation is complete, you can perform a restore of one or more tables.
