Offline Mining for SharePoint Server

You can browse and restore granular data, such as a file, a library, a sub site, or a site collection. Offline mining of data is useful when granular backup is not available.

Server Requirements

• To perform a granular restore, you must have a content database attached to a SQL server.

• Verify that you are performing offline mining on one of the following versions of SharePoint server:

  • SharePoint Server 2019

  • SharePoint Server 2016

  • SharePoint Sever 2013

Client Requirements

• The source client machine must have a SQL server with a content database attached. You can attach a content database to the source client machine using any of the following methods:

  • Cloning a SQL Database

  • Performing a SQL Database In-Place Restore Operation

  • Performing a SQL Database Out-of-Place Restore Operation

  • Performing a SQL Database Restore to Disk Operation

• The SharePoint agent must be installed on a SharePoint application server.
