Oracle Wallet Backup and Restore

If a database is encrypted, the Oracle Wallet files are backed up during a full database backup.

  • Oracle Hardware Security Module (HSM) and Oracle Key Vault are not supported.

  • Oracle Wallet backup and restore is supported for Oracle 19c and later releases.

  • Oracle Wallet backup and restore is supported for all restore types except for table restores.

  • The source and destination clients must both be upgraded to this release or a later release and must both be on the same release. The Wallet files are automatically restored for any full database restores made after this release or a later release is installed on the Oracle client source and destination machines.

  • Wallet files are not backed up during log file backups.

  • Oracle Wallet backup and restore operations are not supported for IntelliSnap backups.

  • In certain configurations, automated Wallet backups and restores may not work. In those cases you may need to manually back up or restore the Wallet file (ewallet.p12) and recreate the sso file (cwallet.sso).
