Applies To: Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance, SUN
You can perform a block backup of a ZFS file server. With block backups, file-level restore operations and direct access restore operations are not supported. Refer to your vendor NDMP documentation for more information.
Note
When performing an out-of-place restore from a ZFS-NDMP backup, you must change the Preserve n level from end of the source path value to 0. See Performing an Out-of-Place Restore.
Before You Begin
You must have a subclient that contains the content path needed for block backup operations. To perform a block backup, the subclient content path must be the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance ZFS path to the project, share, or LUN. For detailed information about the formats to use, go to the Oracle document NDMP Implementation Guide for the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance, NDMP Formats.
