Adding an Access Node (Backup Gateway)

You can add an access node (also called backup gateway).

Consider the following:

  • If the access node is used to connect the Command Center to the CommServe computer, provide the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the access node. For example, accessnode.example.com.

  • The access node FQDN must be resolvable from outside the perimeter network and inside the local network.

  • Port 8403 must be open for connections from outside the perimeter network and inside the local network.

Procedure

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

    The Servers page appears.

  2. In the upper-right, click Add gateway.

The Add gateway dialog box appears.

  3. In Host name, enter the fully qualified domain name or the IP address of the server.

  4. In Server name, enter a name for the access node.

This is the name that identifies the access node in the Commvault software.

  5. For OS Type, select the operating system of the server.

  6. Click Save.
