Perform a Test Backup and Restore of the SQL Server Instance

To verify that the SQL Server instance is set up correctly, perform a test backup and restore.

Back Up the Instance

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Instances page appears.

2. In the row for the instance, click the action button , and then click Back up.

   The Select backup level dialog box appears.

3. Click OK.

Restore the Database

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > Databases.

   The Instances page appears.

2. In the row for the instance, click the action button , and then click Restore.

   The Backup content dialog box appears.

3. Select the backup, and then click Restore.

   The Restore options dialog box appears.

4. Click Submit.
