Adding MediaAgent Role

You can turn an inactive MediaAgent into an active MediaAgent enabling the Add MediaAgent Role option. When you enable this option, a license is consumed and the MediaAgent becomes active.

Active MediaAgents consume a license, while inactive MediaAgents have the MediaAgent package installed, but have not yet consumed a license.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Servers.

   The Servers page appears.

2. For the server that you want to add MediaAgent role, in the Actions column, click the action button , and then select Add MediaAgent Role.

   Note

   The Add MediaAgent Role option will be displayed only when you select an inactive MediaAgent.
