Backing Up Nutanix Files Exported to CIFS On Demand

You can perform a full, incremental, or synthetic full backup of the CIFS shares.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Protect > File servers.

   The Overview page appears.

2. Go to the File servers tab, and then click the file server.

   The file server page appears.

3. Under Protocols, click CIFS.

   The CIFS Overview page appears.

4. On the Subclients tab, in the row for the subclient that you want to back up, click the action button , and then click Backup.

   The Backup dialog box appears.

5. For Backup options, select the backup type.

6. For IntelliSnap backups, to create a backup copy immediately, select the Create a backup copy immediately check box.

   Caution

   After you enable IntelliSnap, you cannot run synthetic full backups.

7. Click Submit.
