When restoring an Oracle VM virtual machine from backup, you can restore it as a Red Hat Virtualization virtual machine.
Before You Begin
-
For Oracle VM, convert the VMs to KVM-compatible VMs. For more information, see Preparing Xen Hypervisors for Conversion to Red Hat Virtualization.
-
Back up the virtual machine that you plan to convert.
-
Use the configuration wizard to create a Red Hat Virtualization hypervisor.
-
Linux VM /etc/fstab entries should use UUIDs instead of device names, because device names might change on conversion. You can also, post-conversion, change the entry in fstab from sda/sdb to xvda/xvdb for the converted disks.
