Creating the Hybrid File Store on the Command Center

You can add a Hybrid File Store so that you can manage it from the Command Center.

Before You Begin

Verify that the Hybrid File Store server has sufficient disk space for the disk cache and the index cache. For more information, see Hybrid File StoreDisk Cache Size Guidelines.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Infrastructure.

2. The Infrastructure page appears.

3. Click the Hybrid File Store tile.

   The Hybrid File Store page appears.

4. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Add Hybrid File Store.

   The Add Hybrid File Store dialog box appears.

5. In the Hybrid File Store name box, enter a name for the Hybrid File Store.

6. From the Protocol list, select NFS or SMB, depending on the protocol that you plan to use.

7. From the File server list, select the MediaAgent to use as the Hybrid File Store server.

   The File Server list includes Linux or Windows MediaAgents, depending on the protocol that you select. For example, if you selected the NFS protocol, the File Server list includes only the Linux MediaAgents.

8. In the Data cache path box, enter the full path to the disk cache directory on the Hybrid File Store server.

   The Data cache box is displayed only if you have not already configured the disk cache directory.

9. In the Index directory box, enter the path to the index cache directory on the Hybrid File Store server that you selected.

   The index server, the index storage pool, and the HAC cluster packages are automatically installed.

   The Index directory box is displayed only if you have not already configured index cache directory on the Hybrid File Store server.

   Note

   Recommended: The index cache path and the Hybrid File Store cache path must be two separate SSD disks.

10. From the Backup plan list, select the server plan to use to back up the Hybrid File Store.

11. Click Save.
