Disabling Two-Factor Authentication (Administrator)

You can disable two-factor authentication (which is a form of multi-factor authentication) at the CommCell level, the company level, or the user group level.

Note

When two-factor authentication is enabled for all users at the CommCell level or the company level, for a user (tenant user) who is a member of more than one user group and if the two-factor authentication is disabled for at least one user group, the two-factor authentication does not work for that user.

Before You Begin

After you complete the procedure, you must restart the Commvault services. So prepare as necessary for that restart.

Procedure

  1. Disable two-factor authentication:

    Procedure

    CommCell

    1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > CommCell.

      The CommCell page appears.

    2. In the General section, move the Enable two factor authentication toggle key to the left.

    Company

    1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Companies.

      The Companies page appears.

    2. In the Name column, click the company.

      The company page appears.

    3. In the General section, move the Enable two factor authentication toggle key to the left.

      The Enable two factor authentication dialog box appears.

    User group

    1. From the navigation pane, go to Manage > Security.

      The Security page appears.

    2. Click the Users groups tile.

      The Users groups page appears.

    3. In the Group name column, click the user group.

      The user group page appears.

    4. In the General section, click Edit in the upper-right corner.

      The Edit user group dialog box appears.

    5. Clear the Enable two factor authentication check box.

    6. Click Save.

  3. Using the Process Manager, restart the Commvault service.
