Checking for Data Transferred After the Total Running Time Expires

This additional setting applies to backup jobs. Use the JMMaximumAllowedTimeWithoutDataTransfer additional setting to run a backup job past the total running time if the backup job has transferred data within the last n minutes of the total running time. For instruction on setting the total running time, see Setting the Total Running Time.

Example

  • Total running time equals 2 hours

  • JMMaximumAllowedTimeWithoutDataTransfer equals 30 minutes

A backup job starts at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m. the backup job is not complete, so it has exceeded the total running time of 2 hours. The last 30 minutes of the total running time is checked: 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. If data was transferred between 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., the backup job continues to run. If no data was transferred, the backup job is killed.
