Sybase's SQL Anywhere supports two types of backup:
-
Image Backup
-
Dump Backup
Image backup creates a copy of the database file and/or transaction log file. each of these database and transaction log files are created as separate files.
Dump database creates a SQL file that contains all the commands to rebuild the database.
You must install the SQL Anywhere client and server binaries on the client computer before configuring and performing SQL Anywhere backups and restores. However, you must use Commvault's file system iDataAgent to manage the subclients and perform backups and restores for Sybase's SQL Anywhere.
