Before adding a Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale file server as the NAS client, review the options for the NAS client hostname:
-
For NDMP LAN-free direct-to-tape (NDMP “2-way”) backups, the NAS client hostname must be one of the following:
-
Zone name of a SmartConnect zone defined on the file server containing only Backup Accelerator nodes. Using a SmartConnect zone distributes the NDMP backup load across all Backup Accelerator nodes.
-
IP address or hostname of an individual Backup Accelerator node in the file server.
-
-
For NDMP to a MediaAgent (NDMP “3-way”) backups, the NAS client hostname must be one of the following:
-
Zone name of a SmartConnet zone defined on the file server containing one or more nodes in the cluster. Using a SmartConnect zone distributes the NDMP backup load across as many zones in the cluster as possible.
-
IP address or hostname of an individual node in the cluster.
